## Common Measure Literary Magazine Since April 2022, I've published [Common Measure](https://commonmeasure.substack.com/) a literary journal featuring original poetry, fiction, and criticism. What started as a weekly newsletter has grown into a platform for emerging and established writers, with subscribers receiving new work every week alongside my own essays on literature. In August 2024, we released Common Measure Volume 1, a print magazine collecting the best submissions from our first two years. The issue features poetry, short fiction, visual art, and criticism from contributors across North America and the UK. Contributors have included Monroe Lawrence, Hector Mukwa Jenkins, Eleanor Lindsay, Cassidy McFadzean, Ben Meyerson, Pamela Vanderwoude, Glen Bullock, Maggie McPhee, Dr. Aaron Tucker, and many others. The journal publishes a mix of original creative work and literary criticism. Recent pieces include essays on Proust and Ovid, Mishima's _Spring Snow_, and Turgenev's _Fathers and Children_, alongside fiction exploring everything from AI product reviews to lab-grown meat gaining sentience. We've also featured ekphrastic poetry, experimental prose, and translations. In 2026, we will be publishing our first chapbook, by Monroe Lawrence.
